The refined elegance of variety

Moon Flight, the mysterious force which connects soul to soul, is an invisible help, mystical journey, an adventure desired by everybody. Its stops reflect on the many faces of love, which can be disturbing or reassuring, merging or separating, endless or volatile at the same time.
Kátya asked Róbert Hrutka again as a fellow traveller. This time, however, they did not arrange some of Kátya’s favourite songs, as they did in the case of their album Through Europe. They composed ten brand new songs for the new album. Kátya Tompos wrote the lyrics for almost every song. The intimate, sometimes thought-provoking, sometimes funny stories, which, nevertheless, come from the depth of her soul, were all inspired by life. Each poem is a piece of the actress’s soul, a window on her world. In the programme of the Moon Flight concert, naturally, there are old favourites, as well, besides the songs of the new album.

Haydn’s Muses

Joseph Haydn dedicated most of his keyboard sonatas to specific persons, among whom there is only one man. All the other works were inspired by women, famous amateur virtuosi of the age: the Auenbrugger sisters, the princess Marie Esterházy, the true Londoner virtuoso Theresa Jansen, and Haydn’s platonic love, Mrs. Genzinger. The cantata Arianna might have, supposedly, been composed for the first performer, Mrs. Genzinger’s daughter, ‘Fräulein Pepperl’. These works show Haydn’s unlimited humour and his fine sense to portray the ladies with his music. He also continually composed songs which introduce the listener into the intimate, foremost feminine, atmosphere of the home music of Viennese classicism. This night, these Muse-inspired masterpieces will be authentically performed by one of the greatest Hungarian sopranos of our times, who was awarded a Kossuth Prize, and the early music specialist, who was awarded the Hungarian Talent Scholarship.
